Traditional locum agencies
Percentage markup
- How they charge
A percentage markup on every hour worked — a commonly cited industry range is 20–40% of clinician pay.
- How costs show up
The final cost is often unclear until invoices arrive.
- What you get
Placements — but the credentialing behind them is often opaque to your team.
Generic job boards
Pay per post
- How they charge
A fee for each post you publish — roughly $80 to $500 on Canadian boards, for a listing alone.
- How costs show up
Low up-front fee — then the hours your team spends screening, verifying and chasing.
- What you get
A listing. No verification, no credential review, no workflow — you do the work.
LocuPedia
Per-post flat rate
- How we charge
Every organization post is free during launch. Standard pricing after launch is CAD 300 per 7-day posting period — that is the entire posting fee.
- How costs show up
You know the exact total before you publish. Nothing per applicant, nothing per hire, no percentage.
- What you get
Matching, verification, messaging and a complete post record included. Healthcare only.
Covering an engagement worth $9,000
Same coverage need, two ways to fill it. Drag the value — the agency fee chases it. Ours doesn’t move.

The real cost to hire one clinician
A job board sells you an advertisement. A hire is only finished when a verified clinician starts — and the gap between those two things is where the money goes. Here is the whole landscape, named and honest.

Cost ranges are commonly cited public figures — rate cards change, so check each platform’s current pricing before you budget (sources include the Indeed pricing guide and the PracticeLink rate card). Hiring 10 clinicians
Drag the number of positions. Their totals chase it — ours barely moves, and during launch it doesn’t move at all.
CA$0 during launch — standard at CAD 300 per 7-day posting period. Verification, matching and the audit trail are included, not extra.
Designed alongside practising physicians, nurses and clinic managers — not a generic job board with a medical category bolted on.
Qualified professionals should never pay to find work. Profiles, credential wallet and applications cost clinicians nothing — forever.

Trust, built in
Only for healthcare — and everyone verified
The posting fee — waived during launch — buys you a room where both sides have already been checked. That is the point of the platform, and it is why the pricing can stay this simple.
Built exclusively for healthcare — not a generic marketplace with a medical category bolted on.
Licence, identity, insurance, certifications and background — verified before a clinician can apply.
Organizations are reviewed before they can publish a request — no anonymous postings, ever.
Posts, applications and close-outs are logged, so there is always a record behind every engagement.

Pricing questions
The fine print, up front
Not during launch. Every organization coverage post is currently CA$0, and no card is required. When standard pricing returns, publishing or extending a post costs CAD 300 per 7-day posting period. There is no fee when someone applies, no fee when a post is filled, and no percentage of clinician compensation — ever.
One post covers one facility or clinic location, one specialty or clinical role, and one connected coverage requirement — with any number of related dates inside the same 7-day window. Matching, notifications, unlimited applications, credential visibility, team review, messaging and status tracking are all included.
Every verified legal organization publishes free while the launch period is active — not just once, and not as a limited trial. Each post includes the full experience for its 7-day posting period, with no credit card required. We’ll notify organizations in-app and by email before standard pricing is activated.
Close the post whenever the requirement is filled — there are no additional fees, and nothing renews automatically. If the post is still open when the 7-day period ends, it expires. During launch, extending is free; after launch, extending uses another 7-day posting period at the same flat CAD 300.
Small corrections stay editable: wording, compensation, contact information and shift details. A material change — switching the specialty, the location, or the entire coverage period — counts as a new coverage requirement and needs another post. This keeps every post honest and searchable for clinicians.
During launch, every live post costs CA$0. After launch, standard pricing is CAD 300 per 7-day posting period, billed when you publish or extend — one location, one role, one connected coverage requirement. Close the post the moment it’s filled: the period is prepaid, so there’s nothing to cancel and nothing renews. Hospitals and networks posting more than 25 times a year can arrange custom volume pricing with our team — still calculated per period, never a subscription.
Every successful referral adds credits to your Post Bank: +50 when an organization you referred verifies and publishes its first legitimate live need, +20 when a clinician you invited verifies their licence. At 100 credits, one CAD 300 7-day posting period is covered when standard pricing returns. Credits earned during launch are saved. Organization referrals are uncapped; the clinician path can earn up to two covered posting periods per organization per year. Referral credits expire 6 months after they’re issued, and everyone you invite must be completely new to LocuPedia — self-referrals and duplicate accounts don’t count.
No — clinicians never pay to find work. Profiles, the credential wallet, full opportunity details, applications and work tracking carry no charge. An optional Premium membership is billed separately at $19.99/month and is never tied to compensation; the clinician’s rate is agreed with you and handled directly with you.
Prices are shown in Canadian dollars before tax. During launch there is no posting charge. When standard pricing returns, applicable taxes are added based on your jurisdiction and itemized on your receipt — you’ll always see the exact total before you’re charged. Receipts and your organization billing history live in your Billing area.
Your records remain yours. Post, application and close-out history stays exportable, so you can take your records with you. See how we handle records on the security page.
